A Start Up Roadshow came to Canterbury recently as part of a search for the most exciting start-ups in the South East.   

Canterbury is accelerating its transformation. Across the district, a series of ambitious property and development projects are reshaping places, unlocking new investment, and driving sustainable growth.

Canterbury is evolving, and the Connected Canterbury initiative www.canterbury.gov.uk/luf is at the heart of this exciting transformation. Supported by nearly £20 million from the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund with further contributions from Canterbury City Council the programme of work will be completed by summer of 2026.  

Imagine stepping off a train in Kent from Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam and arriving in Canterbury within 20 minutes - exploring cobbled streets, visiting world-famous heritage sites, or heading straight to a business meeting in one of the district’s growing innovation hubs.

Raise a glass to Canterbury district in Kent, the place to invest for the English wine industry.  The county is already home to more than 50 wine producers with many choosing Canterbury as their preferred location to grow and bottle their success. 

The district of Canterbury is the place to invest in new hotels. That’s the message behind the Canterbury Hotel Summit being held next week (Friday, 9 May) and designed to bring more investment to the district and boost jobs.
